I formed Software Cottage in 1996 after leaving DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation).
Initially I concentrated on C programming, but quickly discovered the joys of Java. I attended the Open University in my spare time, studying object oriented design in general and Java in particular. In 1998 I passed the OU exams with distinction, then sat and passed the Sun certified Java programmer test.
The company really got off the ground when I began working for US company Backsoft. Together we created <b>Talk - a sophisticated development platform which provides web access to SAP R/3 systems. This was a great chance to apply my Java and design skills, and a very successful partnership.
