Solarium

A sound-to-vision experiment

Solarium is a streaming Flash 5 movie, featuring the sounds of "Iron Man"

Solarium was created using a Software Cottage Java utility called AmpInfo.

AmpInfo extracts audio amplitude data from a sound file. The data is read into an ActionScript array, where it can be represented in any number of ways.

In Solarium the width of the "solar flow" is repeatedly mapped to the sound amplitude as the music plays.
